How to Work with your Learning Coach
Limited Capacity seats available

Learning coaches, also known as instructional coaches, have been working in Lawrence Public Schools for the past decade.  However, many teachers may not have used their coach to their fullest capability.  During this session, learn the philosophy behind coaching, what coaches do, how they work with teachers, and what coaches don't do.  Coaches are in schools, behind the scenes to support, not evaluate, teachers during the Impact coaching cycle.  The district model was created by Dr. Jim Knight at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning.  The work that is done with teachers is confidential and impactful for teacher, coach, and students.  If you have ever been curious as to what your coach does, now is the time to learn!

Best Year Ever!
Participants will be engaged and inspired as we analyze several research based traits, authentic insights, and practical actions that make one's year the best ever from a professional and personal standpoint. What was the best year you ever had?  Think about it. When we reminisce about our best year, certain memorable moments will most likely come to mind that caused that particular year to stand out from the rest. I have read, researched, observed, visited, talked directly to, and interacted with thousands of individuals from a wide array of professions! This powerful presentation, "Best Year Ever" captures the common denominators from those findings.
Note: Participants need a notebook and something to write with. I will use a PowerPoint to guide our presentation.
