I love working with social studies curriculum. In 2017 I had the opportunity to study 'The Kennedy Presidency' at Boston University with the Gilder-Lehrman Institute of American History and 'The Long Road From Brown v. Board of Education' with the National Endowment for the Humanities in Richmond, Virginia. In 2019 I was accepted to the George Washington Teacher Institute at Mount Vernon to study 'Slavery at Mount Vernon During George Washington's Presidency', as well as another opportunity to study 'The Lincoln Presidency, Speeches and Writings' with the Gilder-Lehrman Institute in Springfield, Illinois. These opportunities connect me with educators around the nation, experts in the field of history and specific content, and enhances my content knowledge while providing new teaching strategies to continue supporting other educators. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you in our professional development sessions.
